SALT LAKE CITY AND LITTLE FALLS, DECEMBER 16, 2019
Skyworks Global Inc. (“Skyworks”) and Luminati VTOL are announcing an agreement for Luminati VTOL to produce ten SparrowHawk kits for Skyworks’ American Autogyro Inc subsidiary’s SparrowHawk III gyroplane. This agreement will restart SparrowHawk production in response to demand for the aircraft from both domestic and international customers.
The SparrowHawk III is a quick-build kit that has been developed and sold by American Autogyro. With approx. 100 kits delivered and thousands of flight hours, the SparrowHawk III provides a unique, elegant, safe design that delivers high reliability and low operating costs, making it particularly well-suited for hobbyists and aviation enthusiasts. The homebuilt kit provides everything needed to fly except fuel (and the pilot!).
The SparrowHawk III kit components will be manufactured at Luminati VTOL’s Little Falls, New York PEMS plant with assembly to take place at the nearby Hansen Island facility. Luminati VTOL will offer optional assistance with building the kits. The partnership between Skyworks and Luminati VTOL will also provide replacement parts as needed for existing aircraft.
Skyworks and Luminati VTOL also plan to collaborate to demonstrate an electric powered version of the aircraft.
According to Luminati VTOL’s CEO, Daniel Preston, “We’ve brought together some of the brightest minds in the industry on this project. We are very excited to make Little Falls, NY the aerospace manufacturing hub for Griffiss Air Force Base.”
